In this sermon we continue in our study in the gospel of Matthew. In this sermon we look at 1 Samuel 24 where David has an opportunity to avenge himself against Saul, who has been hunting him, and yet David entrusts himself to the Judge of all the earth and extends mercy to undeserving Saul. We see how seeing God as judge over all should effect the way that we live out our Christian faith.

Resting in God’s Providence

In 1 Samuel 23 we see the hostility against David increase as Saul pursues him through forest and desert. However, despite the chaotic appearance of David’s experience, we see that God is still presiding over it all and we find the comforting truth of God’s providence.

God Preserves His Servant
