In this sermon we continue our study in 1 Samuel and we see the shocking contrast between Elkanah and his son Samuel and Eli the priest and his two sons Hophni and Phinehas. In Samuel God is graciously raising up a prophet after his own heart and one who will usher in the the King of God’s choosing, but the sins of Hophni and Phinehas are making them ripe for the coming judgement of God.
